Limbach-Oberfrohna 2016

The 25th edition of »Saxony Day« in Limbach-Oberfrohna from September 2 to 4, 2016 was a joyous, peaceful festival with over 300,000 guests, over 400 clubs and associations, and more than 800 helpers. The »Saxony Day« board of trustees and host city of Limbach-Oberfrohna had organised a number of programme highlights to mark the 25th anniversary of Saxony's largest folk and associations festival, such as an anniversary brochure, a vast open-air gallery displaying the finest moments from 25 years of »Saxony Day« an anniversary avenue with presentations of previous host cities, and a joint anniversary run with the host cities and board of trustees. A world record was also set with more than 1,050 people playing the »Mensch-ärgere-dich-nicht« board game.

The Grosse Kreisstadt Torgau was elected as the host city of the 27th »Saxony Day« in 2018 at the 50th meeting of the »Saxony Day« board of trustees on Saturday morning. The 2017 host city is the Grosse Kreisstadt Löbau, whose lord mayor accepted the baton from board of trustees president Dr Matthias Rössler at the official closing event on Sunday evening.
